Reflections Of A Seasoned Scholar With Thomas Schreiner
Scripture Focus
"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God."
— Colossians 3:16
A Deeper Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, as I reflect on my journey as a scholar, I am reminded of the countless blessings and opportunities that you have given me to grow in knowledge and wisdom. I am grateful for the privilege of studying your word and the works of great theologians like Thomas Schreiner, who have helped shape my understanding of your divine plan. As I continue on this path, I pray that you would grant me the discernment to distinguish between earthly wisdom and heavenly wisdom, and that my heart would remain fixed on you, the author and perfecter of my faith, guiding me to be a reflection of your love and wisdom to those around me, and that I would be able to use my knowledge to teach and admonish others, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in my heart to you, and that your word would dwell in me richly, transforming me into a vessel of your glory, and that I would be a light in the darkness, shining your love and wisdom to a world that desperately needs it, and that you would use me to bring glory to your name, and that my life would be a reflection of your love and wisdom, now and forevermore.
A Short Prayer
"Dear Lord, I thank you for the wisdom and knowledge that you have given me through my studies and experiences, help me to use them to glorify you and serve others. May my heart remain humble and my spirit remain thirsty for your word, guiding me to be a reflection of your love and wisdom."
