No Father Left Behind - The Crosswalk Devotional - June 20
Scripture Focus
"Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord. And he will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers, lest I come and strike the earth with a curse."
— Malachi 4:5-6
A Deeper Prayer
Dear Lord, as we reflect on the importance of fatherhood, we are reminded of the significant role that fathers play in shaping the lives of their children. We pray that You would give all fathers the strength, patience, and wisdom they need to be effective leaders and role models in their families. May they be able to provide for their children's physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, and may they be a source of comfort, guidance, and love. May their hearts be turned towards their children, and may their children's hearts be turned towards them, that they may have a deep and abiding relationship with one another. We also pray for those fathers who may be struggling, who may be absent or disconnected from their children, that You would intervene in their lives and bring healing and restoration. May they be given a second chance to make things right and to be the fathers that You have called them to be. And may all fathers be reminded of their importance and value, not just on Father's Day, but every day, and may they be encouraged and supported as they seek to fulfill their responsibilities and live out their faith. May Your love and blessing be upon all fathers, and may they be a blessing to their families and communities, in Jesus' name, Amen. As we pray for fathers, we are also reminded of the ultimate Father, our Heavenly Father, who loves us and cares for us more than any earthly father could. May we all be drawn closer to Him, and may we experience His love and presence in our lives, that we may be filled with joy, peace, and purpose. May our hearts be turned towards Him, and may we be faithful and obedient children, that we may bring glory and honor to His name.
A Short Prayer
"Dear Heavenly Father, we pray for all fathers, that they may be guided by Your love and wisdom, and that their hearts may be turned towards their children, and their children's hearts towards them, let Your love and blessing be upon them, in Jesus' name, Amen."
