Love One Another The Crosswalk Devotional June 8

Scripture Focus

"A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another."

— John 13:34

A Deeper Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today with grateful hearts, thanking You for the gift of love that You have shown us through Your Son Jesus Christ. You have taught us that loving one another is not just a feeling, but a choice, and a commandment that You have given to us. As we strive to love one another as You have loved us, we ask for Your guidance and wisdom, that we may be able to demonstrate the same kind of love that You have shown to us, a love that is patient, kind, and selfless, and that our love for each other may be a reflection of Your love for us. You have shown us that love is not just a word, but an action, and that it is demonstrated through our willingness to serve and sacrifice for one another. May we be willing to put the needs of others before our own, and may our love for each other be a source of strength and encouragement to those around us. May we also be mindful of those who are hurting and in need, and may we be able to show them the same kind of love and compassion that You have shown to us, that they may know that they are not alone, and that they are loved and valued by You and by us.

A Short Prayer

"Dear Heavenly Father, help us to love one another as You have loved us, and may our actions reflect the love and kindness of Christ. May we be a shining example of Your love to a world in need of it, and may our love for each other bring glory to Your name."
