How I Think About AI in My Medical Practice
Scripture Focus
"For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well."
— Psalm 139:13-14
A Deeper Prayer
Dear Lord, I come before You with a mix of excitement and trepidation as I consider the role of AI in my medical practice. On one hand, I am amazed by the potential of AI to enhance diagnosis, streamline workflows, and improve patient outcomes. On the other hand, I am mindful of the potential risks and uncertainties associated with relying on machine learning algorithms to inform my decision-making. As I move forward, I pray that You would grant me the wisdom to discern the benefits and limitations of AI, and to use this technology in a way that is consistent with my values as a Christian and a healer. I pray that You would help me to stay focused on the needs and dignity of my patients, and to never lose sight of the fact that each person who comes into my care is a beloved child of Yours, worthy of compassion, respect, and kindness. As I navigate the complexities of AI in medicine, I pray that You would be my guide and my comfort, and that You would use my practice as a means of bringing hope, healing, and wholeness to all those who entrust themselves to my care. May my work be a testament to Your power and Your love, and may I always remember that, no matter what technologies or tools I may use, it is You who are the ultimate source of healing and restoration. I pray that You would help me to stay grounded in Your Word and to trust in Your sovereignty over all aspects of my work, even as I explore the possibilities and challenges of AI in my medical practice.
A Short Prayer
"Dear Heavenly Father, as I navigate the integration of AI in my medical practice, guide me to use this technology with wisdom and compassion, always prioritizing the well-being and dignity of my patients. Help me to discern the benefits and limitations of AI, and to trust in Your sovereignty over all aspects of my work. May my practice be a reflection of Your love and care for all people."
