How Does Jesus Fulfill the Law? (TGC Classic)
Scripture Focus
"Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them."
— Matthew 5:17
A Deeper Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you today to reflect on the profound truth of how Jesus fulfills the law. Through his life, death, and resurrection, Jesus has shown us that the law is not just a set of rules to be followed, but a reflection of your character and love. By fulfilling the law, Jesus has given us a glimpse of your perfect love and justice, and has shown us that true righteousness is not just about external obedience, but about a deep and abiding relationship with you. As we seek to follow Jesus and walk in the spirit of his teachings, may we be reminded that our righteousness is not based on our own efforts, but on the perfect obedience of Jesus, who has fulfilled the law on our behalf. May his fulfillment of the law guide us in our daily lives and may we always seek to follow his example, loving you and loving others as he has loved us. May we also be mindful of the freedom and redemption that Jesus has given us, and may we use this freedom to serve and love others, just as Jesus has served and loved us. May his fulfillment of the law be a constant reminder to us of your love and grace, and may we always seek to live in the spirit of his teachings, Amen.
A Short Prayer
"Dear Lord, we thank you for sending Jesus to fulfill the law, giving us freedom and redemption through his perfect obedience, may we walk in the spirit of his teachings and love, Amen. May his fulfillment of the law guide us in our daily lives and may we always seek to follow his example."
