Does God Still Love Me When I Feel Broken and Distant?

The Biblical Answer

As a Christian, it's natural to question God's love during difficult times. The Bible tells us that God is a loving Father, who is close to our hearts and always present in our lives (Matthew 28:20, Deuteronomy 31:6). When we feel broken and distant from God, it doesn't mean He has abandoned us; rather, it's often a sign of our own spiritual struggles. Just like a loving parent doesn't abandon their child, but draws them closer with loving discipline, God gently convicts us to draw near and restore our relationship with Him (Hebrews 12:5-11). Our feelings don't define God's love, which endures forever, even when we feel farthest from Him (Psalm 136:1-3, Isaiah 54:10).

"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Jeremiah 29:11

A Prayer for This

"Dear Heavenly Father, I confess my feelings of brokenness and distance from You. Help me to trust in Your love and presence, and to draw near to You. Comfort me with Your promises, and remind me that You are a loving Father who is always with me, always guiding me towards hope and a brighter future. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen."
