Did Dinosaurs Exist in the Bible?

The existence of dinosaurs may seem at odds with what many people learned through the lens of traditional biblical interpretations. However, when we look at the Bible with a more nuanced understanding, we can see that the ancient creatures mentioned in the book of Job, such as Leviathan and Behemoth, are often interpreted as symbolic representations rather than literal beasts. These creatures, described in vivid imagery, have characteristics that match those of dinosaurs.

In Job 40:15-24, Job is tasked with describing Leviathan, with scales as hard as bronze and eyes like the morning star. Meanwhile, in Job 40:24-32, Behemoth is described with strength comparable to a mountain, and is sustained by the willow tree.

It's worth noting that in the early Christian church, some notable figures like Basil and Augustine interpreted these ancient creatures to be dinosaurs. This is also echoed by many Christian theologians today.
