A Prayer for Rekindling Intimacy After a Long Dry Spell

Heavenly Father, You are the author of marriage and the designer of intimacy. You created the sacred bond between husband and wife to reflect Your own love for Your people. But Lord, somewhere along the way, my spouse and I have drifted apart. The busyness of life, the weight of responsibilities, unresolved hurts, or simply the passage of time has created a distance between us that feels hard to bridge. I ask You to intervene, Father. Rekindle the emotional, spiritual, and physical intimacy in our marriage. Help us to remember why we fell in love in the first place. Reignite the spark of desire, the warmth of companionship, and the depth of genuine connection. Remove any barriers between us — pride, resentment, exhaustion, or fear of vulnerability. Help us to communicate openly and honestly about our needs, our desires, and our struggles. Give us the courage to be fully known and fully loved by each other. Teach us to prioritize our marriage above the demands of work, parenting, and daily routines. Help us to create space for each other — not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually. Show us creative ways to nurture our relationship and keep the flame alive. Heal any wounds that have contributed to this distance. Where there is unforgiveness, bring grace. Where there is misunderstanding, bring clarity. Where there is apathy, bring passion. Lord, let our marriage be a testimony of Your restoring power.
