A Prayer for Inner Peace Amidst a Divorce

Heavenly Father, I come before You with a heart that is heavy with grief and confusion. The life I had planned has crumbled, and I feel lost in the wreckage of what was supposed to be forever. Lord, I don't understand why this is happening, but I trust that You see the full picture even when I cannot. Please grant me inner peace, Father. Calm the storm of emotions raging inside me — the anger, the sadness, the fear of what comes next. Help me not to be consumed by bitterness, but instead to release every hurt into Your capable hands. Give me wisdom in every decision I must make during this time. Guide my words when emotions run high. Protect my children, if I have them, from the pain of this transition, and help me to be a source of stability and love for them. Lord, I ask for the courage to forgive — not because the pain doesn't matter, but because holding onto resentment will only imprison my own heart. Free me, Father, to walk forward in grace. Remind me daily that my identity is not found in my marital status, but in You. I am Your beloved child, and nothing — not even this divorce — can separate me from Your love. Rebuild what is broken in me, Lord. Restore my joy, renew my hope, and lead me into the future You have prepared for me. In Jesus' name, Amen.
